REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed National offensive lineman Daniel Johnson, the team announced on Tuesday. Johnson (six-foot-five, 307 pounds) was selected by the Roughriders in the fifth round, 41st overall, of the 2024 CFL Draft.
The quarterback landscape across the CFL looks pretty stable, overall, with at least five teams appearing to be set at QB1 as training camps open. You could argue that number is as high as seven, really, with just the Argos and REDBLACKS most assuredly in the ‘hopeful’ stage when it comes to starters.
The Stampeders also announced Monday the team had released American linebacker Tre Walker.

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced on Monday that they have signed 2024 second round CFL Draft pick Luke Brubacher. The club also signed American defensive lineman Kobe Jones and added American wide receiver Devon Williams to its suspended list.

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes had some good news to announce on Day 2 of their 2024 training camp in Saint-Jérôme. They reached an agreement with Geoffrey Cantin-Arku, who was their first-round pick, ninth overall, in the 2024 CFL Draft.
OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS announced on Monday that they have signed their second overall pick in the 2024 CFL Draft, National receiver Nick Mardner.
CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders have signed national defensive back Ben Labrosse, the team announced on Monday. Labrosse, Calgary’s first pick, fourth overall at last month’s Canadian Football League draft, recently attended rookie mini-camp with the National Football League’s New York Giants.
New head coach, new offensive coordinator, new vision, new attitude. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are an entirely different team heading into 2024. The team overhauled the coaching staff after falling short of their goals in the second half of the season for the second straight year.
HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are anticipating opening the season at full strength at the quarterback position. Head coach Scott Milanovich said on Monday that he expects Bo Levi Mitchell to be available when the Ticats travel to Calgary to face the Stampeders on June 7.
